Thank you so much for a wonderful trip! Probably one of our favorites. Definitely liked the automatic car as it was hard enough to concentrate on staying on the left without fumbling with gears with my non-dominant hand.
I am glad we went to the Guiness Brewery as it was fun and not as kitschy as I expected. We enjoyed pouring our own and tasting the beer – or at least I did.
K-Club was a great suggestion from you and a perfect way to start the vacation, being an easy drive from Guinesss-weary we were from the flight. We had a fabulous upgraded huge room with living room area and the staff was wonderful. Dinner at the Golf club facility was great as well. Breakfast too was great.
Ashford Castle was the best place I think we have ever stayed. It had ultra luxury and charm. You really thought you were in a castle with everything you could want. The tea was the greatest as well. But what really made it was the staff. They were outstanding and anticipated every need. When we asked them something they always followed through. We feel as if we made friends with the staff there as they were so nice and conversational. Excellent in every way!
It was convenient to visit the Cliffs of Moher in between Ashford and Adare.
Adare was great and top notch beautiful and we really loved our room. The room was two upgrades higher and may have been the second best room in the hotel. Except for the front areas and the wonderful long hall eating area, the rest of the hotel seemed simply fancy brand new without the charm. Don’t get me wrong, it was luxury to the hilt, but it just did not compare with the castle experience at Ashford. The staff was young and forgot to respond to some of our requests, so they were a little off on that too. Nonetheless it was wonderful.
Fitzwilliam in Dublin had great service but I thought the hotel facility itself was more like a three star. But it was perfect in location to walk right out to Trinity College and the Temple Bar area as well as the shopping, so I was so glad we stayed there.
Thanks for everything! It was fabulous and will be hard to top. Scotland or England is on the list for the next trip when we can. I’m afraid I am coming to love 5 star hotels. It makes the vacation.
